Alan Adler, an aerospace engineer, took it upon himself to invent AeroPress, after realizing that it took a great amount of time to brew a cup of coffee in a standard drip coffee machine. If like Adler, you're looking for a quick and easy way to make a good cup of coffee, the AeroPress coffee maker is the answer.
The AeroPress is a hassle-free brewing method that allows you to press hot water through the coffee quickly. (because of air pressure the coffee comes out finely) It is lightweight and portable, and it consistently produces a full-bodied cup produces a rich bodied cup while retaining all the natural notes of a coffee. That is why it is so loved by travelers - a perfect companion for travel coffee.
How To Brew A Perfect Cup Of Coffee With An AeroPress?
There are just a few steps to a delicious cup of AeroPress coffee.
Step 1: Measure And Grind Beans
Measure and grind 40 grams of coffee finely, similar to table salt consistency.
Step 2: Prep The AeroPress
Place the filter in the removable basket of your AeroPress to prepare it. The filter should then be rinsed with hot water, and the brewer should be preheated. This will allow you to warm everything up and get rid of any paper flavor.
Step 3: Add The Coffee
Attach the basket to the bottom of the brew chamber before placing it over your preferred mug. Then, using the coffee loader or funnel that came with your AeroPress, add your ground coffee.
Step 4: Pour The Water
Add water double the amount of coffee first. Make sure that all the coffee is saturated. Paddle it gently if needed, and let it sit for 30 seconds.
Now, pour the remaining water.
Step 5: Place The Plunger
Once you've reached number 4, stir your coffee and water mixture before placing the plunger on the brew chamber and pulling up slightly to create a pressure seal. Don't take the plunge just yet!
Step 6: Plunge!
Remove the seal and stir your coffee mixture once more when the timer reaches a minute. Now you can replace the plunger and begin gently pressing down with steady pressure. You should come to a halt as soon as you hear a hissing sound.
This entire process should take around 2 minutes. So there you have it - a perfect cup of coffee ready in 2 minutes. An AeroPress coffee machine is super easy to clean. Simply remove the basket, remove the coffee grounds and filter, and clean the rubber plunger with hot water.
