How To Brew A Perfect Cup Of Coffee With A French Press:

Step 1

Before starting, bring about 350 ml of water to a boil. While the water boils, grind your coffee beans. French Press coffee requires coarse and evenly ground coffee powder.

We recommend a 1:10 coffee-to-water ratio to start with. So for 350 ml of water, you'll need 30 grams of coffee.

Step 2

Add the coffee grounds to French Press and pour almost twice the water compared to the grounds.

Step 3

Gently paddle the water-soaked coffee grounds. Let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds.

Step 4

Now pour the remaining water over the coffee and place the lid gently on top. Don't plunge yet. Let the coffee steep for four minutes.

Step 5

At exactly 4:00, you're ready to press. Firmly and steadily push the press down.

Pour the hot coffee into a cup as soon as you're done pressing. Don't let it rest because the coffee will continue to brew, resulting in over-extraction. The cup is yours!
